A documentary photography project that follows a 19-year-old girl stuck in the boredom of East Coast life, waiting for something to change as she approaches 20. It’s a portrayal of the in-between — too old to be a kid and too young to have it figured out. I spent the day with her, playing rock music to get her comfortable, capturing the way she drifts between emotions and daydreams. It’s about the frustration of feeling stuck while the outdoors becomes a kind of refuge. How she can breathe easier near water.
